Sustainable development refers to the development of future generation but not at the cost of growth and needs of the present generations. The world is moving through era of the digitalization in which most of our daily dos and needs are highly depended on the innovative digital solutions or computer technologies. These digital solutions have made the socio-economic, environmental, sustainable and climate research applications easier and highly productive. Now-a-days the technology has become the major aspects of the society but it can also be utilised in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the society.


Now- a-days development and manufacturing of the electronic devices are depleting the limited number of resources and generating high number of e-wastes. Considering the sustainable goals and development as two parts of a coin then minimising the e-wastes techniques is an urgent need. There is also a need to ensure quality infrastructure and equal internet access to achieve the goals of reducing poverty, inequality as well as aligning the need to digital education to every final user. In order to achieve this technology has given us a chain of technologies which includes Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Internet of things. These technologies help to achieve (SDG) in and around every sector of the society which include climate, agriculture, sanitation, responsible consumption and production, industry and infrastructure, no poverty and many more sectors…


Along with these sectors the clean energy generation is a sector where technology plays a very important role. The essential renewable resources energy evolves for years but in terms of materials technology is much more ahead . Different software's are used by many companies which accelerates the end to end process of  energy management. Software optimization are used in many areas which reduced the number of malfunction as well as comprehensive process management helps in productive maintenance of the hardware. For example Better and good quality of materials also enable good performance of the solar panels even if in the places which get less amount of sunlight or even increase the durability of windmill reducing the no of malfunctions.

High internet connections and IOT  solutions enables requirements of the small energy sources based on limited amount of resources.

Now-a-days you see electric automobiles which is considered as the future of the automobile industries  are also enabled due to technology which helps in protecting the environment from various harmful gases and elements which are  affecting the environment to great extent. Also through the use of CNG vehicles we are also able save petroleum resources  to some extent.

In todays world everyone needs automation and automation means technology. A number of optimization and automation solutions like smart home, System platforms also play a vital role in saving the energy  resources to a great extent.

Technology to a great extent also act as sustainability enabler as smart metering and other technologies help in predicting and forecasting climatic risks and research which act as the baseline for understanding the climatic variability and future projections. Digitalization in the form of  the Machine learning or deep learning models uses the historical data in order to predict the future climatic eruptions which helps in preventing major destructions of the environment as well as toward nature. The open source data policy and the robust algorithms helps to work in sustainable research at  different scale. The models generally with comprehensive solutions help in maintaining the ecological sustainability. This digital age has a great potential to overcome sustainability as for Example Smart homes optimise the energy consumption at home. The Food-sharing apps reduces food waste age to a great extent  and intelligent traffic Systems guides the traffic through the cities with few emissions.

Others ways in which Sustainable Technology helped to achieve the SDG includes :-

1. Carbon capture and storage technologies which help in reducing carbon dioxide content in the Atmosphere which can  prevent the environment from various environmental issues because according to proper estimates that only Co2 emissions of USA will be reaching 4,807 million metric tons by 2050 which is biggest issue of concern in front of many industrial giants.

2. LED light technology because by reducing the electric consumptions we are reducing the carbon content in  the atmosphere.

3. Self – sufficient construction methods.

4. Plastic recycling is one major achievement of the Digital world to achieve Sustainability as according to reports or stats it is found that around 260 million tons of the plastic are generated every year on a global basis. But only 16 percent of the plastic are recycled. Therefore with proper models industries giants are aiming to eliminate waste across sectors creating the economic, societal, and environmental benefits through proper techniques of waste management which also plays a very vital role in achieving the SDG.





Therefore its said very wisely that “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it” So Digitalization has helped in my ways to save our Environment and also to achieve various Sustainable development goals but its totally dependent on us that if we want to import this practice to our life or simply waste resources without thinking of our future generations.


We can together think of many new plans and ideas that can be used for our growth and for enhancing the use of digitalization in many sectors.

Cloud computing and internet of things can be used for preserving the composition of things which are available at present but may vanish in future . This will help us to make the similar kind of production and meet our requirement.

Business adopting digital sustainability as a goal can use digital processes, tools, and forecasting models to measure potential gains against the impact that their success might have on the environment.

The sustainable technology will prevent deterioration ,contamination, and other negative environmental impacts through its use or production.

Artificial intelligence can used in aiding with disaster responses , reducing air pollution ,making renewable energy more affordable and all such. Like this analytics and ML can be applied to automate processes with the environmental impact and creating predictive maintenance. So Lets take as a pledge not to waste but to save our resources for future generations along with that we should  try to live a healthy life by creating a environment Full of happiness and joy without harming our needs and amenities.
